Chicago "The Artist's Way" July Meetup

As at previous meetings, we'll discuss our progress on working toward the basics:

We have "graduated" from Artist's Way and are now working from Julia Cameron's most recent book, Walking in this World. We devoted the month of June to studying the ideas in the first two chapters:

One: A Sense of Origin -- beginnings and commitment and small creative steps in general
Two: Proportion -- identity, wishlists and small creative steps towards a particular project or idea

In July, we'll be studying Chapter Three: Perspective -- blessings, anger and interest mapping.

And we'll be having our first ever open studio collage experience. Please come with collage items you've collected from your universe and please think expansively. Items can include wine labels, dominoes, library cards, matchbooks, rejection letters, wallpaper scraps, yarns and ribbons, etc. The only rule in collage is that it must be able to be stuck down.

You can make a stand-alone collage, or you can embellish a journal cover, journal pages or any other object you wish.

The studio will provide base papers and glues, and acrylic paints for an extra touch. There is a small materials fee for this meeting.

PLEASE RSVP TO THIS MEETING CONCIENTIOUSLY! Because this is a working meeting, RSVPs will be limited. Please be considerate of others as you would want them to be considerate of you: a "yes" RSVP who never arrives means a missed opportunity for someone else! If you discover you won't be able to attend, please give us enough notice to give another artist a chance to play.
