Indy Artist's Way Writer's Meetup Group

Our purpose is to meet other local writers and artists, aspiring or otherwise and followers of The Artist's Way, by Julia Cameron. We concentrate on expanding our creativity in order to help those who wish to write and create. We use the book and some of the exercises in the activity kit, to get our juices flowing in all areas. That means we meet but will also have the opportunity to submit written work to other members who are interested. Some will be critiquing that work for each other or learning to critique, which is another way to stretch our writing skills. We will also explore other genres as we have before, so that will not be going away. Our aim is to increase the passion and breadth of our creativity and so enhance and encourage the experience we have as fulfilled artists. We will do this with fun, kindness, passion and honesty, as these are the principles we wish to espouse on our journey along the Artist's Way.

From 465 take the Washington Street exit and head East toward downtown. Johnson Avenue is a small winding one-way street on the left just before the old Irving theater. If you're coming from downtown on Washington, Johnson Avenue is the next right, just past the stop light on Ritter. The Lazy Daze is the last place on the right with a great space to sit outside if the weather is nice. There is parking in the back. Read more
